Our History
On 53 acres of land donated to Christian Union Church by Ellis Cowan in 1998, the goals and aspirations of many CU members are being realized. We're not finished yet, but countless volunteer hours have already gone into making our campgrounds what they are today.
The first structure on our campgrounds was a donated church. We hauled it in, attached it to the foundation we'd poured and went to work restoring it to its former glory.
Our beautiful chapel today has been lovingly restored and is available for weddings, family gatherings and other events.
From these humble beginnings, we have continued to grow our facilties and build upon the dream of offering a family-oriented, fully-functioning outdoor getaway to our guests and members. Perhaps one of our most beloved attractions is our covered wagon and teepee lodging. (Teepee currently unavailable.)
Our lodge has a fully functioning kitchen. Our pavilion is positioned directly south of the lodge.
